Speaking of pie in the sky , I just received my Iron Bay regulator. The big fitting came out when I was putting the fuel line on , just unscrewed. How tight is that supposed to be ??

Dear friends
I am aeromodeller from India . I own couple Saitos and never had performance problems. Except 90 s which is giving me problem since last one month. This engin simply quits or goes dead within minutes of starting.Having very good knowledge of engins have
tried everthing in world but could not repair this problem.I would like to know the address
of authorised or reliable repair workshop who can repair this engin. Is there a saito helpline
where i can talk to ,could not find one ?
THANKS A MILLION IN ADVANCE UDAYAN

ULG, have you tried richening the needles to make sure they're not too lean, or changed the glow plug to a new one, adjusted the valve lash, although Saito valves can be way out of adjustment without effecting performance. I am always real slow to suspect mechanical problems and quick to suspect adjustable things. From reading these pages I know that engines get blamed far too often and operators not nearly often enough.

The velocity stack for the 120, 150, & 180 engines is larger than the one supplied with the 50, 56, 62, 65, 72, 80, 82, & 91 golden knights

Hello all
I have a brand new 82a on the way for a second 66" decathlon i'm building. The 62a pulls my original around ok but i'd like to increase the performance of this one so i can do some scale like low aerobatics. Can anyone suggest a good size and pitch of prop for good acceleration, idle and throttle response?

Sure.. how about a 22x4 3 blader???
Got a APC 12x6 on a similar sized 4 stroke and it does all I need, maybe a low pitched 13" would do you better
Off to fly me 105.5" Citabria with my re tuned ( thanks w8ye and hobbsy ) Saito 180, which turns a MAS Classic 18x6 prop real good. Just hope it'll better 32oz in ten minutes.

O.F.,
Many people seem to recommend APC 14x6 for the .82. I have flown two different .82s in Bruce Tharpe Ventures and have found that a 13x6 works well. My engines are flown with Pro-Zinger wooden propellers and they may not be as efficient as the plastic props.
The 14x6 Pro-Zinger loaded the engine a bit too much and there was a ground-clearance problem on that particular plane. The engines turn the 13x6 around 9200-9300. This is on 15% nitro with the engine leaned about 300 rpm rich-of-peak.
Once set up correctly, idle, transition, acceleration, economy, and reliability have all been fine. Just like a well-tuned Saito!
Unless your Decathlon comes out very heavy, you should be well pleased with the .82. Good luck.

Anyone here have any experience running a velocity stack on the FA 115? Do you know if there is one that will fit? One of the guys at Horizon tells me they don't recommend using one. That it would restrict the air flow. Then another fellow tells me part # FAI 120S93 will fit, The 100 and the 115 use the same carb (same part #) but I can't actually find a velocity stack listed for either one. As far as I can tell the part # I was given fits the 120 and the 150. It doesn't look to me like the carb on the 100 -115 is the same as the carb on the 120-150 so now I'm beginning to doubt the information I've been given. Anyone know the real facts? [

The one for the 50 bolts right on but is no bigger than the hole in the carb. It may reduce power. The one for the 120. 150, & 180 do not fit

I need to take mine off of my 1.25 before I fly it again.
Like Hobbsy said, the 12x6 is an excellent prop for the .56. I use an APC on mine.

Thanks for the respose guys, about the velocity stack for the 100 = 115. I'll move on from there and try to decide wheather to buy a 91 or a 115 to power a NitroModels Fokker DR 1 I have on order. Any input on that issue would be welcome. Anyone familier with that airplane? Thanks again.
