Welcome to Club SAITO !
Quick question, I don't need to start a new thread for. On my Gemini, can I use blue thread locker to secure the screw that holds the arm to the throttle body? It came loose in flight and caused a crash.

As long as the screw and internal threads are metal yes and a little dab will do ya.
If you're screwing into plastic then no, locktite will attack and make plastic brittle

Overall, the engine has been cleaned up nicely. It was just the valves that were rather gunky. Since that last post, (34524 and 34525 on page 1381) I have run the engine up with a 13x6 prop and got about 9300RPM on it. I think that was pretty good, actually. I just didn't want to pull the valves (and lose the springs) unless I had to.
I'd heard that one should try squirting some WD-40 into the intake, and other guys said not to do this. Has anyone heard of this, one way or another???
For the record, I use Denatured Alcohol quite a bit for cleaning a lot of things, but it's not that effective at getting deep castor oil off.
Thanks for the input,
Bob

you can see in this photo that engine has only 2 plugs, also if you read the article you will see that engine has a very efficient Combustion Chamber in the shape of a Hart (same as the Chevy SB), I don't think mine with the dual plugs will have that Compression Chamber, I'm thinking mine is an older engine, it would be nice to know,,
Hobbsy, would you know when Mr, Lee wrote that article ??

Hobbsy, it's good to hear that your hand is healing well !
a 20x8 on my MVVS 35cc hit my finger at a high idle, the prop hit the end of my finger but on it's side, it hit so hard it split open the underside and broke the tip of the bone, it took 4 stitches, that must have been ten years ago..

mine has 4 Plugs,
I'm now wondering, because Mr, Lee did not talk about the fact that some 130's do have 4 plus, maybe the 4 plug engine is a newer engine than the one Mr, Lee tested,
edit>> surely if the first 130 had 4 plugs Mr, Lee would have said so in his article..
BTW, my engine cleaned up well with Auto Engine Degreaser,, plus, I pulled a Plug on each side and I added a few drop of ATF, and this little baby has very good compression

Pete, nice work with the logo letters and nice look of depth. That is really great looking. I might detour over to the Triumph bike shop tomorrow and just look around.
Gee i dunno barry is that safe to do? triumph make retro bikes that take you back to the sixties with rose coloured glasses, anywhere close to the dealership could be fatal, specially if the minister for finance/fun is'nt prepared. You are surrounded by motorcycles and a slick salesman appears with a white open faced helmet and a set of brown flying goggles that fit you perfectly. He says 'take it for a spin' and the next minute your transported to heaven. You ride it home and pull in the driveway happier than you've ever been, give it a rev to make sure the neighbours noticed and proudly walk up the front steps as the missus opens the front door. How big can a fully loaded and cocked judge look and whats with the red laser dot

Barry, if you go there think big, like a Triumph Thunderbird Storm, 98 hp and 115 ft. lbs. torque. 1,699cc. Your Mrs. will love the the tourer.
Yes Jim, I was thinking per cylinder, your way per engine may be clearer. Bill Robison was convinced that if you put a cold plug in the front of cylinders you could have a sort of ignition curve, no way to prove that, that I know of. We discussed that because my 1.30 had four plugs. Some of the 1.20's had twin plugs too.
